There Is No Pain

I couldn't sleep last night, but that was more from my vacation sleep schedule and late night cherry coke and m&m's than excitement over the next phase of my tattoo. Not to say I wasn't excited. It was different though. I'm more excited about the creative process and seeing this great work of art, than just getting a tattoo.

Beyond any shadow of a doubt the most pain I've experienced has been on the inside of my wrist. It's like being snikt'ed by a tiny wolverine a million times a million in the space of a millisecond. But it wasn't unbearable. I said my pain mantra and it was okay. "There is no pain, there is only the illusion of pain." Works.

Now I'm enjoying a lunch at the coffee shop and later I'll relax with maybe some ice cream, watch Fringe, which I'm enjoying now that the series is winding down, do some laundry. I'll probably go by work later, just so i can start to readjust and not have as much of a return shock tomorrow morning. Argh, work.

And on the subject of TV, I watched Alcatraz and really enjoyed it. I think it still has some time to see if it's going to last, but I like the premise, the stories and the cast. It's got Nila from ER and Dr. Grant from Jurassic Park! Best team-up ever.
