NaNoWriMo 2011

I participated in NaNoWriMo a couple of years ago. The goal is to write 50,000 words by the end of the month, what would be a complete novel. What I wrote was the introduction to a novel, so I'm either an overachiever or a cheater.

This year I'm going to write The Arctic Heart. Here's the synopsis from my NaNoWriMo page:

"At the height of the Revolutionary War, a ship of privateers is forced to sail north into the plunging temperatures of the Arctic Circle. Now, over 200 years later, will two people find love between the warfare of old and the tactics of new. Also, zombies."

Honestly, I've always envisioned it as a movie and a highly inaccurate one, at that with all of the cheap theatrics and storytelling that entails. The Arctic Heart is just meant to be an entertaining twist on romance and zombies, with some odd social commentary thrown in. That's it.

So let's see what happens. Time to write. Get those juices flowing. Crank it out. Just start. Just get going. Yeah. Let's go.

...

It's going to be a long month.
