The Mink
I haven't posted publicly in ... a very long time. And how many times have I done an "origins" post, as if it really matters why I started blogging or how it came to happen. What is the significance of the title of this blog? Isn't it cute how the initials form the word "Mink" as if prescience somehow deemed to give me a mascot? Wasn't Gary Lezak a jerk for interrupting the 2011 season finale of Saturday Night Live for what turned out to be just some drizzles and fog in Kansas City? Actually, I can't comment on that one. Although I joined in the Facebookian outrage, I was able to watch the episode uninterrupted form my parents' couch in St. Charles. (That's on the other side of the state for you non-natives.) It was just too much fun to chime in.
If you are reading this than you are probably already Lezak literate. By now the only people that read this blog once in a blue moon are the same friends from Kansas City that I let continue to read my blog when I decided to privatize the entire venture. And I don't remember what prompted me to do that. Probably one of the many events of my life that were once chronicled here, but now lay deleted in the gutters of Blogger.
Starting over! I have recently had three blogs. This one for my private rants and thoughts, another on which I'd posted slightly more literate offerings and a third that was going to be this fun new adventure. But I found myself posting on none of them. Faced with so many choices, I couldn't decide which way to go.
So I simplified. Back to the beginning. Deleted my past. Cleaned the place up. Opened the doors. Welcome. Welcome.
And I'm just going to do everything here. I will talk about my life, but try to keep the complaining to a minimum. I'll put up pictures taken or drawn. Writing rough and finished. Just, everything. If I could press my hand to the screen and put a palm print on this page right now, I would. It wouldn't mean anything, but, well, I can be pretty random. Oh, and I'll be reposting things from my other blog.
That is all.
PS
One of my "fears" has always been that someone I knew a long time ago would find this blog or continue to be reading it when my association with them had ended. Usually that's been an unreasonable fear. If you are one of these people ... should we be friends again? Is what you are doing right now a creepy kind of stalking? If the former, say "hi". If the latter, don't say "hi" and I'd hope for your sake you'll just move on.
And if you are my mother, please don't comment on reading this. I know it's weird that I don't share, but I just don't.

Yays! Love the blue wave background
They've added some neat options to Blogger since the last time I messed with it.
