"Unglued"
Credit for the best lines in this song/poem go to Josh Woodruff of Waypoint Home. We used to play a game where he'd give me a line and I'd build something around it.
"Unglued"
Armed with my heart,
I wear sleeves of fury.
Terrible portents of things to come,
And words I will not bury.
I will not fear the fists of fate;
Your tears I won’t allow.
And just like a Cyclops
I’m seeing with a good eye now.
You can pierce my armored flesh,
And I will not break or bend.
Daggered by your machinations,
I rise again, again, again.
Don’t doubt me once
And count on me to rise.
And just like a wrathful god,
I’m seeing with my all-seeing eye.
Don’t shut me down,
Don’t lock me out.
I’ll crack the door,
I’ll wreck the floor.
Red-fisted,
I’m pissed.
When I call on you,
Answer my call.
Secretly, I am wasted;
Secretly, I’m wasting.
I put up a front,
And I’m hating
This game.
Don’t try me,
I’ll warn you;
One more time,
And I’ll come unglued.
